Today is a footloose day.
Too cold to actually go
barefoot, but releasing
all the buildup to the holidays
was my goal...
Using up paint from the
bargain bin, paint from the basement...
Painting with a really big brush onto a
really bigger piece of drop cloth, 10 x 4 feet...
Painting with my hands,
painting by mono printing
with newspaper, painting
with a paint stick...
No outcomes,
just releasing
and seeing what shows up...
Spilling over
onto paper
to see what
shows up later.

Think that was an excellent way to spend your day. Think I may do the same tomorrow along with normal life which is calling mw. Hope that you had a very happy Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteWowza! I love what showed up!
ReplyDeleteI may just do an afternoon in the studio myself today. Somehow when the sun came out and warmed us this afternoon my groove suddenly returned.

looks like fun! toni gave me a 4x12 cheapie canvas drop cloth to do the same kind of thing with. where who knows!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you--I want normal back. Love the printing/painting on newspaper. I saw an amazing show at MOMA once of painting on the New York Times...loved it...Happy Day After!
ReplyDeleteA lovely release! I wish I could do this with paints, but my studio/guest room is being used for a guest right now. I have been trying to get some stress release from embroidery though, so that's been nice.
ReplyDeleteAfter working today I need that freedom of release soon, that & some yoga!
ReplyDeleteHad a wonderful warm day with my family & looking forward to a creative & free 2012 for us all! x
WOW this looks like so much fun...I wish I could have been there with you to sling some wild colors! Blessings, Mary helen
ReplyDeleteJust the process .... I love it!!
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds really good. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI have had to pack a lot of my stuff away while my father-in-law is staying so it is hard to just let go and create.
Looking forward to the new year.
